The Comparison of The Clinical Applicability of Double Z-Rhomboid Plasty and Slide Swing Plasty

Abstract
The linear closure is useful to coverage of round skin defects caused by various etiologies as long as the location and the size of the defects are allowed. If it is impossible, the round skin defects should be covered by using skin graft or
local
flaps. The methods of local flap are variable according to the design for coverage of round skin defect. The slide-swing plasty used one side of skin flap and double Z-rhomboid plasty used both side flaps are the most effective and representative
method
among the several local flaps.
During the past 10 years, authors have been treated with round skin defect in 10 cases of double Z-rhombioid plasty and 7 cases of slide swing plasty among the several local flaps. We compared the usefulness, advantages, and disadvantages of each
thechnique.
The double z-rhomboid plasty is versatile and elegant method of closure that shares the coverage of a defect with two adjacent flaps. It is can result in leaving the smallest scar and yields superior cosmetic results without displacing anatomical
landmarks, designing the long axis of rhombus and relaxsed skin tension line in accordance, so main suture line is parallel to the RSTL by minimizing closure tension. But anatomical landmark is placed on the surrounding tissue, the design is
difficulty.
The slide swing plasty is a combination of transposition flap and skin sliding, in which the flap employed closing large defect without skin graft, regional anatomic peculiarities, good vasculized flap, and avoidance of secondary defects.
